Who we are

I J C Car Sales Limited (“IJC”, “we”, “us”) is the controller of personal information covered by this policy.

Information we collect

  • Contact details and enquiry information you give us, such as your name, telephone number, email address, preferred contact method and vehicle interests.
  • Information needed to arrange a viewing, demonstration, part exchange, reservation, purchase, delivery, warranty or after-sales support.
  • Transaction, identity and compliance records where required for a sale, finance application or legal obligation.
  • Practical accessibility requirements you choose to share. Please avoid sending medical information unless it is genuinely needed.
  • Basic technical and security information processed by our website hosting provider when you visit the site.

Why we use it

  • To answer enquiries and take steps you request before a contract, including finding a suitable vehicle and arranging demonstrations.
  • To perform a contract, including vehicle preparation, sale, collection, delivery, warranty and support.
  • For legitimate interests, including customer service, maintaining records, protecting the site and improving our services.
  • To meet legal obligations, including accounting, tax, identity, finance and regulatory requirements.
  • With consent where the law requires it, including optional marketing or particular sensitive information.

We do not use this website for solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

Cookies and local storage

Optional cookies and storage stay off unless you allow them.

The site uses necessary browser storage to provide features you request:

  • a first-party consent cookie, kept for up to six months, which remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies;
  • remembering your chosen text size;
  • saving vehicle selections on your device; and
  • remembering during a browser session whether an on-page help prompt has already appeared.

If you allow Maps and personalisation, the site also remembers which vehicle sections and stock you revisit. This interest history stays on your device and is used to personalise the website; it is deleted when you reject or withdraw optional consent.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. You can also remove site data through your browser controls.

Third-party content

Google Maps loads only after you allow Maps and personalisation. Google then receives technical connection data such as your IP address and may use its own storage technologies. Pages may also load privacy-enhanced YouTube videos, weather information from Open-Meteo and images hosted by IJC’s existing website. Those providers receive technical connection data. WhatsApp, Auto Trader and partner links take you to separate services with their own privacy terms.

Who we share information with

Website enquiries are saved directly in IJC’s protected customer-enquiry records and emailed to IJC through Resend after submission. Cloudflare Turnstile checks enquiries for automated abuse before we accept them. We may also share relevant information with service providers and professional advisers, including Google when you choose to load the map, vehicle preparation or adaptation partners, delivery providers, warranty providers, finance providers you choose, payment or identity-check providers, public authorities and regulators. We only share what is needed for the relevant purpose.

Some technology providers may process information outside the UK. Where data-protection law applies, we use providers and safeguards intended to protect that information.

How long we keep it

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose collected, customer support, disputes and legal or regulatory duties. Enquiries that do not lead to a transaction are reviewed and deleted when no longer needed. Sales, financial and compliance records may be retained for the periods required by law.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, and to receive certain information in a portable form. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.

Contact us using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office ↗.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website, services or legal duties change. The latest version will always appear on this page.
